Influencer rate calculator

Work out what one piece of sponsored content should pay across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, podcasts and more. It shows its working — base rate, engagement multiplier, niche multiplier — so you can defend the number instead of just quoting it.

Same creator, every platform

What 25,000 followers is worth, by platform

Each row uses that platform's own average engagement rate, because a 2% rate on Instagram and a 2% rate on TikTok mean completely different things.

PlatformFormatPer 1,000Typical rateRange
TikTokVideo$15$375$300 – $470
InstagramReel$14$350$280 – $440
InstagramFeed post$10$250$200 – $315
InstagramStory$5$125$100 – $155
YouTubeVideo$30$750$600 – $940
FacebookFeed post$8$200$160 – $250
X (Twitter)Post$6$150$120 – $190
TwitchAppearance$20$500$400 – $625
PodcastRead$18$450$360 – $565

YouTube commands the highest rate per follower because a sponsored segment carries far more watch time and production effort than a short-form post.

The formula, in full

Nothing here is a black box

Most rate calculators give you a number and no reasoning, which leaves you unable to argue for it. This is the entire calculation:

The math

(followers ÷ 1,000) × base rate × engagement multiplier × niche multiplier

The engagement multiplier is your rate divided by the platform average, capped between 0.5× and 2.5× so one outlier month cannot distort it. The range shown is the result at 0.8× and 1.25×.

Platform average engagement rates

Your engagement multiplier is measured against these, not against a universal number:

PlatformAverage engagement
TikTok5.0%
Twitch4.0%
YouTube3.0%
Podcast3.0%
Instagram2.0%
X (Twitter)1.5%
Facebook1.0%

Work yours out as (average likes + comments) ÷ followers × 100 across your recent posts.

Niche multipliers

Brand budgets differ sharply by category. This is what the calculator applies:

Finance and tech advertisers pay well above entertainment for the same audience size, because a single viewer is worth more to them.

Questions

Rate questions

How is an influencer rate calculated?

Take your follower count divided by 1,000, multiply by a base rate for that platform and content format, then adjust for your engagement rate against the platform average and for your niche. So a 25,000-follower TikTok creator at average engagement in a neutral niche works out at 25 × $15 × 1.0 × 1.0, which is $375 for one video.

What is a fair rate per 1,000 followers?

It depends on platform and format. Common benchmarks are around $15 per 1,000 followers for a TikTok video, $14 for an Instagram Reel, $10 for an Instagram feed post, $5 for a Story, and $30 for a YouTube video, which reflects the much higher production cost and watch time.

Does engagement rate matter more than follower count?

Neither on its own. Follower count sets the scale and engagement adjusts it, often substantially. A 20,000-follower account at triple the platform average can legitimately charge more than a 50,000-follower account with dead engagement, and brands increasingly price that way.

How much should a micro-influencer charge?

Micro-influencers, usually counted as 10,000 to 100,000 followers, land roughly between $150 and $1,500 for a single piece of content depending on platform, engagement and niche. Engaged niche audiences at the smaller end often outperform much larger general ones.

Should I charge more for multiple platforms?

Yes, but price each deliverable rather than offering a flat bundle discount by reflex. Cross-posting the same video to a second platform is cheap for you and valuable to them, so it should add to the fee — just not the full standalone rate for each.

Do these rates include usage rights?

No. These figures are for organic posting on your own account. If the brand wants to run your content as paid advertising, that is a separate license and typically adds 50% to 100% or more depending on the term.
